At Pasta Press we pride ourselves on the quality of all our ingredients. We know that you truly are what you eat—even when you eat dessert. Dessert should be a source of pride not a guilty pleasure. Anything we don’t make in house from scratch, we carefully source from trusted bakeries in Italy. Some of our wonderful desserts include a classic tiramisu, mini cannoli, homemade panna cotta with frutti di bosco compote.
Tiramisu—the undisputed champion of Italian desserts. Legend has it that this creamy special was born in the bustling trattorias of Treviso, Italy, in the late 1960s. The details of its inception are still shrouded in mystery, but one thing we know for sure: tiramisu was a stroke of culinary genius. With its layers of espresso-soaked ladyfingers, traditional mascarpone, and light cocoa powder dusting, tiramisu spread like wildfire across the globe. If you haven’t tried, you haven’t lived.
Enter the southern pleasure of cannoli. A crispy tube filled with sweet ricotta cheese and often studded with candied fruit or chocolate chips might not sound immediately like your new best friend, but just trust us. Its origins can be traced back to Sicily, where it was originally created as a symbol of fertility and abundance during Carnevale. Over the centuries, the cannoli evolved from a simple peasant snack to a beloved treat enjoyed by people of all walks of life. Leave the gun…take the cannoli—or so to speak.
Last but certainly not least, we have panna cotta. This now elegant dessert hails from humble beginnings in the northern regions of Italy. It was first concocted as a simple way to showcase the region’s abundant dairy products. With its origins dating back to the 16th century, panna cotta has stood the test of time. It has evolved from a statement of pride to a statement piece on any menu. Its versatility and delicate flavor make it the perfect canvas for a variety of toppings, from fresh berries to rich chocolate sauce. At Pasta Press we are honored to offer our own homage to panna cotta that we craft with love, exceptional dairy, produce, and recipes from our ancestors.
